Surf Camps & Large Group Surf Lessons

We have great camp lessons for the kids during spring break and summer as well as large group lessons for families, friends, or businesses.

Surfing:

Surfing is the traditional approach where the surfer paddles prone out into the line up and into the waves and stands up and surfs down the line on the face of the waves. You have to have waves to surf and is generally just an ocean sport. It is a great workout and fun sport with a rich history throughout many diverse cultures.

Stand Up Paddle Surfing:

Stand up paddle surfing, or SUP, is the when the surfer stands on a larger board and uses a long paddle similar to a canoe paddle to move through the line-up and catch waves. With SUP you can see swells sooner and ride the swell before it actually breaks. It gives you a much better view of the surroundings and has an advantage over traditional surfing in that you can stand up paddle on the ocean and on flat water. It is great exercise that can be enjoyed year round on virtually any body of water.

Below are a few often asked questions about lessons:

1Do I Need To Know How To Swim?: Yes we do require you to have basic swimming skills although most spots you are surfing are shallow enough to stand.

2What Should I Bring?: You may bring your own wetsuit if you like but we can provide you with one if not. You should also bring a towel and sunscreen. If you forget we usually have some on hand.

3Can My Family Come Watch?: Absolutely! We encourage you to come support your surfer.

4Can I Go Out On My Own?: If you are in a lesson you a required to stay with the instructor and in the class setting. You may, upon successful completion of a lesson, rent boards and try it out on your own. We do suggest a few lessons before this to learn proper etiquette for being safe in the line-up.

5Will I Be Able To Surf My First Time?: Yes! You will learn to surf or the lesson is on us! (please click on beginner lessons for rules and stipulations)
